This is where it all begins with an instructor teaching you how to rig and fly the kite. Safety is our number one goal for Florida Boarder students, so we have a wind theory and safety talk before hitting the water.
Introductory Kiteboarding Level 1 package:
At this level you will work with an instructor on land, practicing various skills that will transfer directly to your water lessons.
Skills covered include: assessing the wind and its physical locations, using the saftey systems, managing proper equipment set-up, and controlling the trainer kite.
Anyone can complete this level.
3 credit hrs: Equipment included.
IKO Kiteboarding Handbook included to help student with lessons and for review.
Now its time to explore your new skills and practice on the water.
Kiteboarding Level 2 Package:
Time to start water lessons! You will pratice the skills learned in the Level 1 course, with a full power kite and in the water.
Your instructor will show you how to gain power and drag with control both down and upwind. Once you have these skills mastered you'll be ready to try out some water starts on the board.
Must be able swim.
4 credit hrs. Equipment Included.
This is what you imagined kiteboarding would be!
Kiteboarding Level 3 Package:
Now your riding.
Your instructor can start to tune your riding style until riding upwind is second nature. You'll also practice riding toe side and can attempt your first jump.
This level focuses on advanced skills that will help you achieve independence on the water.
Must be Kiteboarder Level 2 or equivelent skills level.
3 credit hrs. Includes equipment and IKO Member Card.
Instructors will focus on the most difficult and progressive disciplines of the sport. This is the next step in instruction for riders who are looking to push their limits and skills to the next level. Instructors will be guiding students to land unhooked tricks, perform kite-loops, and try advanced wave and strapless riding.
